    Goodfellow named among top manufacturing stars

    Tapping into new opportunities in fusion energy, battery technology and specialist R&D projects has helped a Huntingdon-based specialist metals and material supplier boost sales by recording annual double-digit growth since receiving private equity investment. Goodfellow, which employs more than 100 people at its Ermine Business Park facility, has overcome global supply chain issues and rising energy prices to post a £4 million rise in turnover in the first full two years following its acquisition by Battery Ventures.

    Goodfellow Cambridge pushes the next frontier with £1m opportunity at Space-Comm Expo.

    Helping companies and agencies push the boundaries of space exploration and ‘in-space’ production is driving a major new opportunity for Goodfellow Cambridge.

    The specialist supplier of materials and metals has seen interest in its range grow over 300% in the last three years, driven by a need for lighter and smaller components for use in satellites, robotic arms, telescopes, and the Cassini-Huygens probe that was used to study the planet Saturn and its environment.

    Boosted by this £1m+ opportunity, the Huntingdon-based company is set to take its largest ever presence at the Space-Comm Expo 2023, which is due to be held in Farnborough (June 7th-8th) and will attract thousands of delegates and the legendary UK astronaut Tim Peake.

    Goodfellow Cambridge targets £150,000 boost with ‘chemical space’ debut

    One of the UK’s leading manufacturers of specialist materials and metals has given the scientific industry a major boost this week, with the launch of its new Rare Earth Oxides (REOs) range.

    Goodfellow Cambridge Ltd, which employs over 100 people at its Huntingdon factory, is making its debut in the chemical space with a collection of chemical compounds produced by reacting rare earth metals with oxygen.

    The company is expecting significant interest from customers involved in electronics, renewable energy, healthcare, and defence, with sales expected to rocket to £150,000 over the first twelve months due to their unique capabilities and performance.

    Q) Firstly, bring me up to speed with your latest news regarding any new product introductions?

    Goodfellow Cambridge has recently introduced several new products, including: A composite material consisting of graphene, which boasts remarkable mechanical properties, along with outstanding biocompatibility. Our exclusive range of products, Hastalex and BioHastalex, are only available to our 6,000-strong customer base.

    Goodfellow Cambridge is also offering a range of ultrafine metal wires with a diameter of less than 1µm. These wires are coated with borosilicate glass, and the type of coating depends on the wire metal and its diameter. This product is especially in demand from clients striving for miniaturisation and the growing demand for smaller and more complex devices.
